Fear can be a driving force in life. There's always the thought that I can't or shouldn't or wouldn't or won't. We like to define our life by what we won't do when it comes to determining courses of action that interact with risk.
But what is innovation? It's the act of taking what is, stepping into the unknown, and uncovering.
By defining life by what we won't, we lose the chance to recognize the next step in the natural evolution of understanding. If no one or no thing had ever stepped into the unknown, there is the possibility that evolution as a theory may not even exist. To evolve is to embark on a new oppertunity. An oppertunity that, after having stepped into for the first time, requires the very way of the world to become new.
Existence is becoming new each day. It's evolving. At least in some form or another. And to become new is to step into the unknown and uncover something not yet recognized.
This can be as personal as a self-realization coming from doing something you may not typicllay do, to being as meta as questioning the nature of physics and uncovering ground breaking observations that point out how old assumptions weren't right.
Step into the unknown. Uncover what it was that has been waiting in the dark this whole time. Shed light. And you'll help make the world a new place, in some form or another, every single time.
