Independence can often seem a lot more like in-dependence. We live in a dependence for something else, not separate. I find in my life happiness, freedom, hope, etc are all experience that I am dependent on external circumstances yielding  .

I often live in a dependent state. And it's not satisfying.  

I think to seperate ourselves from dependence on other things, or to truly be independent, we need to recognize we are just a being that exists. A being that creates. And therefore a being that creates its own frame of existence. When this happens we are not dependent but diligent in crafting a reality that is gratifying.
